Prepare your funding application

Bring together quotes, business plans and forecasts before speaking to a provider.

Make the request specific

Explain what you want to finance, why it is needed and how the business expects to make payments. Use the same equipment specification, opening date and cost assumptions across your plan and quotations. The checklist below is a preparation aid, not a promise that every lender will ask for the same documents.

  • Business structure, ownership and trading history.
  • Studio plan, location, timetable and relevant experience.
  • Itemised supplier quotes with delivery and payment dates.
  • Opening budget and a monthly cash flow forecast.
  • Current accounts and bank statements where available.
  • Existing finance commitments, owner investment and household budget where relevant.

Explain the assumptions

Show where your booking and pricing assumptions come from. Separate expressions of interest from paid memberships. Include the effect of delayed opening, instructor cover and a slower build-up of classes. If you do not yet have trading accounts, ask what alternative evidence the provider will accept.

Check local support too

Use the GOV.UK finance and support finder to check live schemes for your location and planned spending. Grant conditions vary and may restrict spending before approval. A listing in a search result does not mean that a Pilates studio is eligible.

Send application documents only through the provider’s verified route. Reformer Connect’s directory does not collect financial application documents.
